Assessing Your Transferrable Skills with Claire Solario

The agenda for the session included:
* Understanding the three types of skills
* How those skills fall into four subcategories
* How these skills fit into the big picture of getting the right job for you

To get down to that nitty gritty, UExplore participants made use of the "Motivated Skills Card Sort." With a deck of cards in hand, the participants were asked to look at each skill and put them in order of how much they liked/disliked using the skill and how proficient they were with that skill.


The "Motivated Skills Card Sort" was an exercise that allowed participants to determine if those skills were "motivated skills", "survival skills", "areas for development", or "red flag areas".

In "the big picture", the right job would align with your motivated skills and with your values.
